Grand Prix 3130 chair is designed by Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen with base with four chromed or powder coated steel legs, with black support spacers, black cover cap and black synthetic leg ferrules; shell in pressure moulded veneer with front padded in polyurethane foam and covered in fabric or leather.
The chair is available in Oak, Walnut and coloured or lacquered ash - in 16 different colours icluding white, which can be matched with special white legs.
Since its design and production the Grand Prix 3130 has earned a place among the icons of modern design, especially thanks to its distinctive shape.
The 3130 chair initially known as was introduced in 1957 at the Designers’ Spring Exhibition at the Danish Museum of Art & Design in Copenhagen and later exposed at the Milan Triennale where it won the Grand Prix prize to whom it owes its current name.
