Welcome to the captivating world of Tobia Scarpa, one of Italy's most illustrious designers and architects. Graduating in architecture in 1969 from the University of Venice, Tobia marked the beginning of an extraordinary career by winning the prestigious "Compasso d'Oro" in the same year for the groundbreaking "Soriana" armchair.

As the son of acclaimed architect Carlo Scarpa, Tobia inherited a strong artistic personality, distinguishing himself in the international design landscape. His collaboration with his wife and colleague Afra Bianchin gave birth to timeless masterpieces. In 1959, during a Furniture Design course with Franco Albini, they designed the Pigreco chair for Gavina, marking the start of a brilliant career.

The 1966 Poltroncina 925, exhibited at the MoMA in New York, and the astonishing Libertà chair, part of the Louvre's collection, testify to the international resonance of Tobia and Afra Scarpa's works. The legendary Soriana armchair, created for Cassina in 1970, rightfully received the Compasso d'Oro, solidifying their status as design icons.

Tobia Scarpa's artistic productivity extends beyond the world of furniture. In collaboration with Flos, he brought to life iconic lamps such as Fantasma, Foglio, Biagio, Pierrot, Ariette, and Papillona. The Coronado sofa, born from the partnership with B&B Italia in 1966, continues to embody elegance and comfort.

In addition to his role as a designer, Tobia Scarpa has left an indelible mark in architecture. He contributed to the creation of the first Benetton factory and designed numerous stores worldwide. In 2008, Tobia was honored with the Compasso d'Oro for his outstanding contributions to design and architecture.
