LC1 sling chair is designed by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret e Charlotte Perriand for Cassina with polished trivalent chrome plated or semigloss black enamel steel frame. Seat and back are available in ponyskin or cowskin (with black leather arms) or in saddle leather in a wide range of colours with matching arms.
"Fauteuil à dossier basculant" was designed in 1928 and then produced by Cassina since 1965: this lightweight and compact chair is a counterpoint to the Fauteuil grand confort, more massive, and it is in perfect balance with the table in steel tube and the chaiselongue.
The reclining back provides continuous comfort and support different positions. The arms, two solid leather straps, can rotate with a free play around the upper ends of the uprights. In its shape, mobility of the back and the presence of straps, it was inspired by the “safari” chair used earlier by Le Corbusier in some of his interiors. Its cubic geometric frame evokes the concept of “Purism” and functional perfection, a far cry from the decorative art in fashion at the time.
