Description
Description

LC4 chaise longue is designed by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret e Charlotte Perriand for Cassina with adjustable polished trivalent chrome plated steel frame and black enamel steel base.

Mat can be in hairyskin (with black leather headrest) or in leather (with headrest in black leather or in the same colour as the mat). Headrest with recycled polyester padding.

Designed in 1928 this chair became famous in 1965 with Cassina, the 4 Chaise longue à reglage continu is the defi nitive chaise longue: built in a shape designed for relaxation, the chair was created when the three designers teamed together to put man at the centre of their design, taking the idea that form and function should be at the service of relaxation, creating a perfect balance between its geometric purity and its ergonomic intent. The stability of the frame – for any angle of inclination – is guaranteed by the friction through rubber tubes that cover the cross bar of the base.

This is a model of the “équipement intérieur d’une habitation” that was presented to the Salon d’Automne Paris, 1929. The broken line of the lounging top is very elegantly contrasted with the amply curved support, and it is inspired by the “Kangaroo Sofa”, Virginia, U.S.A. (1830), the unconventional shape of which was an attempt to match a body at rest.
