Vanity Fair armchair is designed by Renzo Frau for Poltrona Frau with frame in solid seasoned beech wood padded with hand-shaped rubberised and vegetable horsehair, biconical hand-tied steel springs fastened to jute belts, and a seat cushion filled with goose down. Upholstery in leather or fabric, with leather covered tacks finishing the back and sides. Base in dark-stained beech wood.
Historically known as "model 904" and renamed Vanity Fair in 1984, this chair has over time become the very symbol of Poltrona Frau, establishing itself as the quintessential archetype of the modern armchair. The design, which went into production in 1930, is believed to have been developed from drawings left by Renzo Frau to his wife, Savina. Its distinctive rounded shape and the long row of leather-covered nails that meticulously finish the back and armrests have helped it become one of the universally recognized icons of Italian design.
The timeless charm of the Vanity Fair lies in its perfect combination of craftsmanship and design. Every detail, from the choice of materials to the precision of the finishes, testifies to Poltrona Frau's commitment to creating pieces that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also incredibly durable. This armchair embodies an authentic elegance that withstands the passage of time, offering an idea of understated and refined luxury where quality and tradition blend to provide an unparalleled comfort experience.
