1919 armchair is designed by Renzo Frau for Poltrona Frau with frame made of seasoned beech wood, featuring a seat cushioned with rubberized horsehair and a backrest and armrests molded by hand from vegetable horsehair; the seat cushion is filled with goose down. Upholstery in leather. The armchair uses hand-tied steel double-cone springs attached to jute straps. Dark walnut stained beech wood feet, with brass wheels on the front. Available without a tray, with a wax-treated Canaletto walnut tray with brass ashtray on the top or natural oak glass holder tray, equipped with a small brass ashtray.

The 1919 armchair is inspired by the model 128, introduced in Renzo Frau's catalog starting from 1919. This model evoked the opulent features of rococo bergères, enhanced by a distinctive footrest extension and a small arm-mounted reading stand on the side. The 1919 armchair is distinguished by the refined design of its backrest, achieved through meticulous manual capitonné tufting, and by a row of leather-covered nails that elegantly finish the back.
