In the world of Japanese calligraphy, there is an invisible but conscious continuity between dots, lines and characters, called “iren” (意連). This gestural fluidity ensures that the signs are in perfect harmony with each other, even when they appear separate. In an age dominated by technology, the Iren desk embodies not only the pursuit of beauty and essentiality, but above all the recovery of a natural and harmonious gesture. This desk brings to life new working scenarios and rituals, establishing a relationship of natural fluidity between the body and the object. Designer Kensaku Oshiro conceived the Iren desk as a compact domestic workstation, capable of integrating with agility into the contemporary lifestyle.
