Description: Wegner 1788 Lounge Chair is designed by Hans J. Wegner for Fredericia with frame in solid oak available in different finishing, seat supported by jute webbing and interchangeable cushions padded in high resilience foam, with fabric or leather cover finished with buttons. Back cushion fastened with leather straps.

Børge Mogensen and Hans J. Wegner worked together on several exhibition projects, one of them was the annual Copenhagen Cabinetmaker’s Guild Exhibition in 1945, where they presented “A Home For the Future” whose core idea was a new vision for lightweight and functional furniture and they launched the first version of 1788 chair and Spoke-back sofa. In 1974 Wegner redesigned the 1788 easy chair to arrive at the current loved design.

This chair provides a comfortable seat and it is characterized by its exposed wooden construction, especially by its beautiful armrests revealing Wegner's sculptural talent.
