Description
Description: The spoke-back sofa is designed by Børge Mogensen for Fredericia with frame in solid oak in a variety of finishing; seat undercarriage support in jute webbing; chaise longue angle adjusted and supported with leather straps.

Seat and back cushions padded in high resilience foam with upholstery in fabric or leather, finished with buttons on both sides. The seat cushion, when covered in leather, has hessian backing on one side.

The spoke-back sofa is a multipurpose sofa, an hybrid of a two-seat sofa, a daybed and a chaise longue, with a hinged side. While, after its design in 1945, it was acclaimed for its innovative approach, it was too sophisticated for post-war tastes therefore it has not been produced until 1963.

This compact wooden sofa can expand sideways gaining almost 40cm that allowed to use it as extra bed, while its organic appearance makes it ideal for different types of spaces.
