Sarpi table is designed by Carlo Scarpa for Simon by Cassina with a structure in satin-finished drawn metal with protective transparent paint and a float glass top with beveled edges and rounded corners.
The table top is supported by brass spacers with exposed burnished screws. The base rests on black rubber feet. Sarpi is available with an octagonal, rectangular, square, round, or "Elistella" (oval) top, designed by Tobia Scarpa based on Bernoulli's spiral (spira mirabilis).
The "Ultrarazionale" collection, of which the Sarpi table is a part, presents sculptural pieces designed by Scarpa, the result of extreme care in the selection of materials, detailed solutions, and craftsmanship. From architecture to glass, from design projects to museum installations, Carlo Scarpa's work always stands out for its unmistakable style, which successfully combines a love for materials, attention to detail, and the skillful elaboration of Wrightian and organic poetics. Architect, designer, and artist, Scarpa, after attending the Venice Academy of Art, began his professional career while maintaining contact with artisan workshops and Venetian master glassmakers.
