Drawn dining chair is designed by Hvidt & Mølgaard for &Tradition with frame in turned and milled solid wood and formpressed backrest; seat in hand-woven natural paper cord. With Wagner Quic-click felt gliders with interchangeable plastic inserts. The seat can be completed with a black or cognac leather cushion. Available in two versions: chair HM3 or armchair HM4.
Drawn chairs are characterized by a simple and clean shape resulting from the rigorous approach to the design of the two designers, which is also expressed with the use of strong lines and organic materials. The back of the chair - smooth and crescent-shaped - is supported by conical elements that extend up to the floor; an elegant symmetry is then maintained thanks to the front legs that are connected to the rear by two wooden beams; the tapered shapes are also repeated in the armrests.
Also known as the Model 316, the Drawn chair reflects traditional Danish craft techniques, such as the hand-woven seat, and since its creation in 1956 has become a design icon.
Drawn chairs combine the beauty of Danish historic furniture with a decidedly modern sensibility.
