With its unmistakable shape and monolithic silhouette, the Creso table embodies a vigorous geometry that fully reflects the vision of Lella and Massimo Vignelli. Supported by a single pedestal, this design piece transforms the table concept into a sculptural work of art. In a version that faithfully interprets the Vignellis' original ideas, the new Creso explores the innovative use of materials to enhance the strength of its design. Its structure consists of a round top and a column base, made of travertine, or a glass or marble surface, supported by a base available in different metal finishes.
Creso stands out for its ability to surprise thanks to the refinement of the materials used and the rigorous graphic proportions, which accentuate its sculptural character. Its genesis is deeply linked to the recovery of the craft technique of encaustic, or “stucco alla veneziana.” This ancient technique involves the spatula application of a plaster of the finest sand, followed by the hot-pressing of colors, inspired by the delicate nuances of 18th-century paintings by Venetian vedutista Francesco Guardi. The result is a table that not only celebrates traditional craftsmanship, but also elevates the material to a new artistic dimension.
