The Palinfrasca sofa, with its instantly recognizable iconic shape, is inspired and pays tribute to the 1994 work by Luca Meda interpreting the essence of teak not only in a new and contemporary way, but also in the most exhaustive representation of Molteni&C's savoir-faire and research into materials: a knowledge gained in the almost ninety years of the life of the company, founded in 1934.
The Palinfrasca seats series is part of the Landmark collection that takes shape from fluid and organic lines and marked materiality; a solid teak system characterized by a soft design, without corners and the "weaving" the thin band of the back, which brings to the woven in natural materials of the Mediterranean tradition. The seats are rich in refined cabinet-making details, such as the profile cut into the connection between the end pillar of the structure and the back of the sofa, which serves as a convenient shelf for small objects. The solid wood pillar itself shows a soft, rounded profile and a double curvature in the corners that give the material a 'soft' image.
The series includes: three fixed sofas in different widths, end pieces, corner and chaise longue always in two lengths; a smaller sofa with a deep, immersive seat and a large, scenic circular island element, as well as an armchair and a pouffe.
