The Hémicycle armchair is designed by Philippe Nigro for Ligne Roset with matte black lacquered metal base, a plywood panels seat structure, backrest and armrests with two linked mechanically-soldered frames, all finished with high-resilience Bultex foam and polyester wadding, with fabric upholstery. It can be configured with a single fabric, in a two-tone version by combining two colors of the same fabric, or in a bi-material version by combining the interior in Vidar or Capa fabric with the external structure in leather. A matching pouf is available.
This armchair completes the Hémicycle seating collection designed by Philippe Nigro with the aim of participating in the Mobilier National project, which aims to furnish official government buildings and to embody French design at the point of innovation. Like the sofas, the Hémicycle armchair, created by the union of two overlapping padded elements, is characterized by a welcoming design and a strong visual impact that makes it suitable for decorating both institutional settings and contemporary homes. The collection is complemented by a compact two-seater sofa, a vis-à-vis model, and a solution typical of the Second Empire, with two opposing seats that allow users to maintain a conversation without turning their heads.
The name of the collection may evoke the hemicycle of the National Assembly, the branch of the French parliament, which is housed in the Palais Bourbon; however, the choice is due to the juxtaposition of that shape with the selected geometric forms.
