Serie 7 - 3107 chair is designed by Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen with base in steel tubes with 4 legs, mounted with black support spacers and cover cap and leg ferrules of black synthetic material; shell in 9 layers of pressure moulded veneer - 7 inner layers in beech and 2 outer layers in veneer of different wood types.
The chair is available in 10 natural veneers or in two finishes, coloured ash or lacquered ash, in 16 different colours; the bases are available in 6 colours in chromed or powder coated steel. it is available also a white coloured base paired to white shell.
The Series 7 chair is one of the most popular Fritz Hansen's chair collection and, since 1955, an icon in modern furniture history, its prototype is exhibited at the Moma, Museum of Modern Art in New York.
Despite its slender form, it is strong, flexible and durable, with a unique and timeless shape. The chair has been produced in many finishes and has been elaborated, moreover, in infinite variations, with armrests, with swivel base, as bar stool, always using the same mold for the seat/back shell.
One of the benefits that increases the functionality of this -original- not upholstered version is the stackability: the chairs can be easily stored piled up and moved with small or large transport dolly.
