Wegner Ox Chair is designed by Hans J. Wegner for Fredericia with frame in solid wood and moulded cold cured foam, with fabric or leather cover, resting on a slanted black or brushed stainless steel frame made of welded circular tubes. Pads at neck and armrests with piping which is available in leather as contrast to fabric upholstery.
It is believed that the Ox Chair was the favourite chair of its famous creator but, unfortunately, it shared the fate of many Wegner's designs which initially challanged the aesthetics of Danish, thus and has to wait decades before it was brought back to life and becoming commercially available.
Ox Chair is an iconic statement piece, sophisticated and rather unusual, yet modern and pure; its generous headrest let it resemble to the ox's horns, hence the chair's name - “The Ox Chair” and its shape, beautiful from all sides and angles, allows to assume different positions. The base adds visual lightness and provides a balanced contrast to the capacious seat.
Although the chair looks like a masterpiece of modern art, it is fully functional and very comfortable fulfilling the designer's core idea. This timeless piece of furniture looking extravagant and intriguing it is a tasteful addition to any modern interior.
