His career included landmark projects in Switzerland and Germany, such as the Budge House in Frankfurt and the Neubühl housing complex in Zurich, often in collaboration with prominent figures of the modernist movement. A dedicated educator, he taught at Harvard University and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, inspiring generations of architects. In 1931, he co-founded Wohnbedarf AG in Zurich, designing innovative furniture that combined functionality, clean lines, and craftsmanship—iconic pieces that continue to embody timeless elegance today.
