Born in Copenhagen in 1923, Nanna Ditzel challenged the boundaries of traditional design from her days studying at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts. Collaborating with her husband Jørgen Ditzel, she created iconic furniture and jewelry, including the renowned suspended Egg chair and an organic jewelry collection for Georg Jensen.
Her relentless pursuit of new materials and techniques led to extraordinary innovations, ranging from fiberglass to wicker, from jewelry to textiles. Throughout her life, she received prestigious international awards, including the coveted Gold Medal at the International Furniture Design Competition in 1990.
After spending years in London, founding the renowned Interspace store, Nanna Ditzel returned to Copenhagen, where she continued to create unique pieces that embodied her bold and innovative vision. Today, her creations are still admired and beloved, featured in prestigious design collections worldwide, including Kettal, Carl Hansen & Søn, and Getama.
