Rivoli Table of 1928 is designed by Eileen Gray for ClassiCon with frame in chrome-plated tubular steel and two swivel trays chrome-plated steel, tabletops in MDF high-gloss lacquered in colors: black, grey, white and Chinese red, partially foldable, plastic gliders in black and one height-adjustable metal glider.
Rivoli served as the tea table in the living room of Eileen Gray‘s sum- mer house E 1027. The gracefui lightweight that no doubt was used on the terrace when necessary, is a lovingly thought-out, versatile piece of furniture for times of rest and relaxation. Everything is ready to hand: shelves swivel to bring fruit, pastries or sweets within easy reach and the tabletop can be extended by raising a side leaf.
Eileen Gray’s achievement in design and architecture is considered pioneering work of Modernism. During her lifetime, she was honoured by the London Royal Society for Arts with the title Royal Designer for Industry, and she is one of few women mentioned in the same breath as Le Corbusier, Mies van der Rohe and Marcel Breuer. ClassiCon produces her iconic furniture designs as the sole and rightful licensee worldwide, in coordination with Aram Designs Ltd., London.
