The 348 Notturno sofa a New York designed by Gaetano Pesce for Cassina consists of nine elements that serve as seats, backrests, and armrests, assembled together through joining elements.
The padding is made of recycled PET fiber and polyurethane elements with a percentage of biologically sourced polyols. The covering is made of three-dimensional jacquard fabric exclusively designed by Gaetano Pesce.
On the back of the central backrest, the moon, the logo, and the signature of the brand and designer are present, while a numbered plaque, laser engraved, is positioned under the plinth of the central module.
Limited edition of 50 pieces.
The genius of Gaetano Pesce once again manifests in a work that goes beyond mere design, transforming into a captivating narrative. This visionary creation, the second chapter of a story that began in the 1980s with "Sunset in New York," captures the essence of the Big Apple at a different moment: night. Pesce had captured the twilight magic of his adopted city, creating upholstered pieces that recreated an urban skyline.
Now, the focus shifts to the evocative nighttime version, where the lights of the buildings illuminate the city, creating a magnificent and poetic scene. The presence of the Moon, at the center of the work, adds a touch of mystery and fascination. Depicted on its hidden side, invisible from Earth, the Moon has been immortalized through a photograph obtained with a telescope. This detail not only enriches the meaning of the work but also adds an element of depth and cosmic connection.
