The B&B Atoll sofa is designed by Antonio Citterio for B&B Italia with frame made from tubular and sectional steel, padded with cold flexible polyurethane foam Bayfit®. Seat cushion filled with contoured polyurethane of varying densities and sterilized down, and back cushion padded with molded polyurethane and sterilized down. Support structure available in brushed bright aluminum, black chrome-painted, or pewter-painted finishes, with upholstery in fabric or leather. Offered in four sizes as a linear sofa or in a modular version, the system. Modules can be completed with armrests or cylindrical backrests, made from molded polyurethane with a die-cast aluminum support and fabric or leather strings.
B&B Atoll is a modular sofa system whose name evokes the imagery of coral atolls. The concept is based on three modular platforms—measuring 190 cm, 240 cm, and 130 cm with depths of either 90 cm or 140 cm—serving as the foundation for a wide range of configurations. These can be paired with various armrest and backrest elements to create multiple layouts, including barrel-shaped sofas, dormeuses, corner terminals, chaise longues, and ottomans.
The light and slender structure rests on tall supports that enhance the elegant contrast between the metal profile and the soft padding. A signature feature of the design is the cylindrical bolster cushion, available in two sizes, secured with refined leather straps to a die-cast support structure. This versatile element can be freely positioned between the seat and backrest, functioning as either an armrest or lumbar support based on preference.
