Serie 500 sideboard is designed by Gianfranco Frattini for Tacchini with Canaletto walnut structure. Available as a three-unit sideboard (500/3) with doors and drawers in the left compartment, and as a four-unit tall cabinet (500/4) with doors and drawers in the lower left compartment. Available as an option glass or wooden shelves.
Conceived in 1960, the Series 500 is an iconic collection of storage furniture based on the concept of modularity. This collection represents another chapter in the collaboration with the Gianfranco Frattini Archive and Tacchini's history, reinterpreting traditional elements in a contemporary way.
Still considered one of Frattini's most distinctive and comprehensive collections, the Series 500 originates from a careful observation of new living needs, integrating modern functionality with refined aesthetics and a deeply rooted historical memory. The furniture pieces in the Series 500 surprise with unexpected compartments that evoke the warmth of home and nostalgia.
The first two pieces reissued by Tacchini are Model 500/3, a three-unit sideboard with tambour doors, and Model 500/4, a tall sideboard with two plus two tambour doors. Both models follow an innovative concept of modularity for the time, starting from a bench base element made of curved wood reinforced by a T-shaped component, which ensures non-deformability, allowing the addition of various modules both in length and height.
This collection also offers a versatile and refined furnishing solution for modern environments, keeping the Italian artisanal tradition alive.
