Brut coffee table designed by Roberto Sironi for Tacchini with lightweight concrete base in die-cast aluminum top.
Art as spontaneous liberation from the constraints of traditional culture, matter as raw substrate transformed to enhance its expressive power. The Brut table embodies an intriguing fusion of spontaneous and informal Art Brut with brutalist architecture. The volumes are emphasized and massive, the materials concrete and partially uncontrollable.
This table is a manifesto of creative process: the die-cast aluminum top and concrete legs highlight a struggle between dominant forms and resilient material, creating an object with a proud and charismatic character.
