Lloyd bookcase is designed by Jean-Marie Massaud for Poltrona Frau with shelves in HPL laminate in a natural oak veneer with a lead matte finish; vertical uprights in MDF covered in saddle leather, with a clean-cut edges with a protective tone-on-tone finish; sides closed by fixed grids made of solid oak. Sliding grids in solid oak moving along guides carved into the shelves, equipped with plastic glides.
Available in the “Freestanding” version with sliding grids on both sides or in the “Wall” version with a matte black painted MDF panel bottom which can also be covered with saddle-leather (like the uprights) on the internal visible side.
External front steel feet in gunmetal grey matt finish and central feet, placed behind, in matt black lacquered.
The Lloyd collection of bookcases and storage units is distinguished by slender vertical wooden rods that, sliding on hidden horizontal rails, allow for customized configurations, playing with solids and voids, light and shadow.
Vertical leather uprights, arranged at regular intervals, add rhythm and enhance the dynamism of the movable grids. Each grid represents a masterpiece of cabinetmaking: the rods, precisely carved in varying thicknesses, are carefully hand-assembled and then individually glued by hand.
The Lloyd bookcase offers both freestanding and wall-mounted solutions. The former version features sliding grids on both sides, allowing convenient access and a full view from every angle. The wall-mounted variant, on the other hand, features movable grids on the front side, while the one in contact with the wall, is enclosed by a panel that can be covered internally in leather, a detail that lends further refinement to this piece of furniture.
