Isadora chair is designed by Roberto Lazzeroni for Poltrona Frau with solid ash wood structure with a triangular cross-section. Seat frame in beech plywood padded with cut polyurethane foam, backrest crafted from molded rigid polyurethane. Upholstery available in Pelle Frau® leather or Saddle Extra leather, with raw-edge detailing, tone-on-tone dye, a protective wax finish, and stitching along the perimeter. Available with or without armrests.
Named after Isadora Duncan, the pioneering figure of modern dance, the Isadora chair evokes her grace and elegance. It embodies the harmonious interplay between the tactile richness of wood and the visual lightness of leather, resulting in a seat that is both innovative and timeless. The sculptural solid wood structure flows in sinuous, dynamic lines, achieved through a masterful modulation of thicknesses that gives rhythm and vitality to its silhouette. The fully enveloping leather covering appears almost suspended: refined cuts and sartorial stitching lend it the air of a flowing garment, drifting effortlessly in space.
This balance of lightness and strength reflects exceptional craftsmanship, where material reduction to the essential—through a process of subtraction—enhances the inherent qualities of each element, celebrating their pure beauty. In Isadora’s design, echoes of the past re-emerge, reinterpreted through a contemporary lens that speaks to elegant, cosmopolitan interiors.
