Concreto bench is designed by Francesco Rota for Paola Lenti with Seres bases connected by a polished AISI 316 stainless steel structure; seat composed of five aligned elements, securely held in place by steel guides integrated into the frame.
More than just a bench, Concreto is a miniature architectural statement—a manifesto of solidity and balance, where imposing volumes and essential forms merge into a sculptural aesthetic. Its name, Concreto, perfectly encapsulates its bold, material essence. Both bench and table, with their striking presence, transcend mere functionality to become true works of art, capable of transforming any space they inhabit. The inspiration stems from the refined Japanese Nerikomi technique—an ancient decorative method involving the layering and fusion of colored clays to create unique patterns. In this project, the collaboration between artist and artisan has led to a radical reinterpretation of traditional mosaics, redefining the very concept of material decoration.
The structure consists of five modular elements that form the seating surface, supported by bases that echo the same geometries and proportions, ensuring impeccable visual harmony. Each module is crafted from a sophisticated blend of limestone, clay, aggregates, and natural pigments, resulting in a technical material highly resistant to weather conditions. This experimental process has led to the development of distinctive aesthetic variations.
