Sailor Float Bookcase is designed by David Lopez Quincoces for Living Divani with 25 mm hexagonal steel uprights available in patinated brass‑effect painted finish or in gunmetal grey. Wall‑mounting plates, Ø50 mm in satin brass with a matte lacquer, screwed onto the uprights and rest against the wall through round plastic end caps.
“Keel shaped” shelves, available in lengths 90/120/150 cm with a depth of 33 cm, made from extruded aluminium with a top surface offered in the finishes of the collection and solid‑wood end pieces housing the joining elements for attachment to the uprights. The shelves come either with a top veneered in multilaminar Striped Grey wood, with the underside and end pieces in matte black lacquer, or with a top veneered in bleached maple, paired with an underside and end pieces in Canaletto walnut.
45 cm‑high storage unit, available in lengths 90/120/150 cm with a depth of 32 cm, is made of MDF and equipped with a removable central divider. The flap door opens and closes via an integrated hinge and a “push and pull” mechanism. The unit is offered in the following finish combinations: flap door and back panel veneered only on the outer side in multilaminar Striped Grey wood, with the edge, bottom and interior always finished in matte black lacquer; or flap door, back panel and interior fully veneered in Canaletto walnut. Pairs of internal shelves in 8 mm smoked tempered glass can be adjusted to different heights using the dedicated supports.
Sailor Float is conceived as the natural evolution of the Sailor bookcase, reinterpreting its essence with an even lighter and more contemporary approach. Designed for configurations with up to three rows of shelves and defined by its wall‑mounted suspended structure, it introduces a new way of inhabiting space with balance and discretion. Its presence blends seamlessly into interiors, creating a sense of order and openness that enhances books, objects and decorative elements. The hexagonal geometry of the uprights and the tapered profile of the shelves interact harmoniously with the flap‑door storage units, giving rhythm to the composition without weighing it down.
