Marcel Gascoin is one of the most important French postwar designers, guided by its own social conscience and the desire to combine clean aesthetic traits with rational production processes. He was appointed by the French Ministry of Reconstruction and Urbanism to design elegant and functional accommodation and furnishings and played an important role in the reconstruction of the country, many of its furnishings have become design icon.
