The Art of Contemporary Woodworking
Giacomo Moor, born in Milan in 1981, is one of the leading voices in contemporary design. Having grown up in a carpenter’s workshop, he developed a deep connection with wood from a young age, a material that would become central to his career. After graduating in Design from the Polytechnic University of Milan with a thesis published in “Abitare”, he founded his studio-workshop in the heart of Milan in 2011. Together with a multidisciplinary team of carpenters and designers, Moor creates pieces that merge aesthetics with functionality, blending artisanal tradition with innovative design.
Moor is renowned for his ability to combine the precision of design with manual craftsmanship. Every piece is meticulously curated, from conception to final production, with an empirical and problem-solving approach that ensures each product is one of a kind. From designing furniture for international companies to creating bespoke pieces for private clients, Moor’s work stands out for its commitment to quality and experimentation. He has developed collections for major design galleries and exhibited his work in cities such as Paris, London, Singapore, and New York, earning prestigious awards, including the title of "Best Young Designer" from Elle Decor Italia.
His creations, which span Limited, Industrial, and Bespoke categories, embody the perfect balance between rigorous design and artisanal craftsmanship, offering innovative and personalized solutions.
