LC6 Table is designed by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand for Cassina with black enamelled steel base with top in black Marquiña marble or white Carrara marble, or with ivory enamelled steel base with white Carrara marble top.
Base has four supporting points with steel threaded shanks, permitting height adjustement up to 50 mm. Feet in black plastic material with felts.
The base of this table was designed in 1928 using the ovoidal profiles adopted in aviation to maintain separate the wings of biplanes, that's why it has been named "6 Table tube d’avion".
The key idea at the heart of this table is to make a distinction between its load bearing base and the top that was to be supported. Each piece is completely autonomous and this is highlighted by the addition of the four middle support pieces used to adjust the height and keep the slim rectangular top in place over its the heavy base.
