Fluid Joinery side table is designed by Linde Freya Tangelder for Cassina with blown glass structure in solid amber, blue, or smoked tones, paired with a semi-transparent polypropylene base.
Fluid Joinery – Side Table I is entirely mouth-blown into a cast-iron mold using multiple gathers of clear and colored glass, layered with precision to create striking transparencies and subtle tonal shifts. The table’s distinctive character lies in its transparency—captivating the eye through vivid plays of light, rich reflections, and overlapping hues, all shaped by its softly irregular, organic form.
For Tangelder, glass embodies a duality between fluidity and solidity: “It becomes even more architectural when heated, as its fluid nature allows for the creation of sculptural forms.” The result is a piece that sits at the intersection of art, design, and architecture—a kind of "invisible joinery" where the volumes appear to merge while still molten, forming a seamless block of glass.
The coffee table Fluid Joinery is designed to stand alone or to be grouped in curated compositions.
