Console Doron is designed by Charlotte Perriand reissued by Cassina with solid wood structure crafted from natural canaletto walnut with a low-gloss finish, or available in matte or high-gloss lacquered options. It comes in both left- and right-facing orientations.
First created in 1947, the Doron Console is named after the legendary Hôtel du Doron in Méribel, nestled in the heart of the French Savoy—a beloved destination of Charlotte Perriand. This iconic retreat, where alpine architecture meets adventurous spirit, inspired the designer to create a piece that is both functional and rich in narrative.
Architectural in its presence, the console stands out for its bold yet refined aesthetic, accentuated by the tactile authenticity of solid wood. Its top surface is sculpted into a crescendo of volumes, culminating in a graceful, asymmetrical wave—one edge subtly more sloped than the other, marking the signature of expert craftsmanship.
Designed to be mounted against a wall, the console rests on a single cylindrical leg—a lightweight, elegant structural solution that ensures both visual balance and stability. This clever design allows the console’s sculptural silhouette to integrate effortlessly into a variety of interiors: in an entryway, it becomes a refined surface for decorative objects or keys; in a living room, it serves as a discreet coffee table or writing desk; in the bedroom, it transforms into a minimalist yet alluring vanity; while in transitional spaces between kitchen and dining room, it acts as a practical shelf—just as Perriand herself envisioned in the apartments of the Les Arcs complex.
