Ventaglio Table designed by Charlotte Perriand for Cassina is made in natural or black stained oak with top composed of fourteen staves and base with three legs.
On the occasion of the 2024 Salone del Mobile, a limited edition of 30 pieces in Canaletto Walnut was proposed.
Designed in 1972 for her chalet in Méribel, the shape and use of this revolutionary table make it radically different from all others. It is the perfect synthesis of Charlotte Perriand’s “art de vivre”. The unusual design is anything but elementary. It is based on the placement of boards, partly aligned and partly in a delta wing pattern, combining the individual components so as to produce a structure of unexpected versatility. The result offers a broad range of new attributes. Besides serving the usual functions, often with an extra dose of freedom, it adapts to new uses free of formal limitations. For example, contrary to conventional tables, the point supporting the individual elements is located well offcentre, thus enabling people to sit and communicate with a greater sense of freedom.
