The XO kitchen is designed by Elisa Ossino for Boffi, with a system of suspended base units and tall units without handles, equipped with "tip-on" push-opening mechanism.
The fronts are opened through the upper handle rails made of extruded aluminium profile.
The squared or basin-effect worktop and the end panels (60 mm thick) extend beyond the doors/fronts.
An optional circular peninsula in oiled solid wood can be integrated. The plinth, made of extruded aluminium, is 100 mm high, with only 20 mm visible. The configuration is completed by tall units from the Programma Standard or Xila, and wall units from the Programma Standard or Aprile.
Designed by Elisa Ossino, the XO kitchen is a contemporary homage to Luigi Massoni's Xila, created in 1972.
Ossino reinterprets its formal legacy, turning it into an architectural composition expressed in a modern language. The surfaces are defined by a subtle interplay of solids and voids: slightly protruding upper and lateral panels discreetly frame the handle-less fronts, which appear to float just above the floor. The result is a clean, refined silhouette, where every detail reflects measured elegance. Breaking the strict linearity of the main volume is the optional solid wood peninsula, a sculptural element with a warm, tactile presence. Its curved design invites conviviality and social interaction. With XO, Boffi reaffirms its vision of the kitchen as both an aesthetic project and a space for everyday life, where technical innovation meets the timeless beauty of Italian design.
