Originally created in 1987, the Gaulino chair was reissued by BD in 2010, with carefully refined leg curves engineered to suit the capabilities of modern wood-bending machinery. This marked Tusquets’ first venture into large-scale production, while retaining the spirit of craftsmanship. The outcome is a sculptural piece where every detail reflects the touch of skilled hands.
While some critics have detected surrealist echoes reminiscent of Dalí, Tusquets himself acknowledges his true inspirations: the organic fluidity of Antoni Gaudí and the sophisticated flair of Carlo Mollino.
