Incas table designed by Angelo Mangiarotti for Agapecasa is made of Serena stone, white Carrara marble, black Marquina marble, Travertine. The supports, with a square shape, fit into the top. The Serena stone tables can also be used outdoors.
In Incas only the two inclined planes bear the stresses due to the weight of the plan, while the vertical ones do not collaborate in the construction system. Incas is now also available in other stone materials and with suitable finishes. Today, for the first time, it finds an unprecedented and sophisticated solution in solid wood, demonstrating how every great idea can be further developed without losing strength and meaning.
The Incas tables can be considered, after Eros, the second milestone of Angelo Mangiarotti's research on gravity joints. In this new iteration, the designer goes further by further reducing the contact surface between the legs and the top. In the Incas only two sides of the legs serve as load-bearing elements. This "evolution" is made explicit by the shape of the legs: a truncated pyramid with a trapezoidal section with two vertical and two inclined sides.
The Serena stone tables can also be used outdoors. Tables made of solid oak may have small knots, non-homogeneous veins or shading between the planks; these characteristics are not to be considered as defects but, on the contrary, as an index of the quality of the material. All Agapecasa products are designed and manufactured for internal use.
