Casa Italia Paris 2024

On the occasion of the XXXIII Olympic Games, taking place in Paris from July 26 to August 11, 2024, the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI) has chosen an emblematic venue to welcome Italian guests and athletes. Casa Italia Paris 2024 has been set up at Le Pré Catelan, a Napoleon III-style piece of architecture located in the heart of the city's largest park, the Bois de Boulogne, a short walk from the Champs Élysées. This building, inaugurated in 1856 and quickly becoming a landmark for Parisian citizens, hosted on June 23, 1894, the dinner celebrating the birth of the Modern Olympic Games, initiated by Baron Pierre de Coubertin.

Casa Italia establishes a profound and symbolic link with the founder of the modern Olympics and with France; with the motto "Liberté, Egalité, Fraternité" that characterizes the French Revolution, Casa Italia Paris 2024 emphasizes Brotherhood, in perfect harmony with the founding values of the Olympic spirit.

From this premise comes "Ensemble," the concept behind the Casa Italia Paris 2024 project. This represents a new stage in an evolutionary process that has transformed the athletes' house from a simple Hospitality House to an internationally recognized brand, capable of telling the story of Italian culture and the Country System through its excellences.

Developing the Ensemble concept, Casa Italia Paris 2024 has transformed Le Pré Catelan into a unique scenic and emotional journey. The rooms of the building, flooded with light thanks to large windows and the surrounding garden, merge into a total work where nature, art, architecture, furniture design and light design dialogue harmoniously. The reinterpretation of the garden with the introduction of Italian essences, the works of art, the layout of the rooms and the design create a space inspired by the great interiors of the Italian tradition, the masters of the 20th century who made Italian creativity famous and the vocation for hospitality that distinguishes us.

The exhibition is enriched by the works of 19 leading artists of contemporary Italian art and the creations of 32 internationally renowned designers, representing 12 brands that symbolize the excellence of Italian design.

Among the longstanding partner companies of Casa Italia are Riva1920, Glas Italia and Moroso. The former is participating with the CURVE bench by Brodie Neill and the LOG armchair by C.R.&S. RIVA1920. Glas Italia, after the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympic Games, was again called upon to furnish the hospitality rooms with Shimmer dining tables by Patricia Urquiola, Jabot by Mario Bellini and Hub by Piero Lissoni and enrich the lounge areas with Shimmer and Fountain low tables by Tokujin Yoshioka. Moroso, on the other hand, interprets outdoor spaces with seating from the M'Afrique collection, signed by international designers Tord Boontje, Marc Thorpe, Ron Arad and Sebastian Herkner, is made in Senegal at Atelier M'Afrique under the guidance of Abdou Salam Gaye.

Some iconic pieces from Poltronova - a new collaborator - were used to furnish the social room: the Joe Jeans armchair and the Cessato Allarme coat rack by De Pas, D'Urbino, Lomazzi, the Ultrafragola mirror by Ettore Sottsass jr., the T02 coffee table and Sofo sofa/armchair by Superstudio, and the Stella rug by D'Urbino and Lomazzi.
