The Banjooli chair originates from a dance gesture: the male ostrich’s courtship dance, known as banjooli in the Wolof language, during which it spreads its wings to display its beauty. This poetic image is translated into form, color, and movement, becoming a seat with a sinuous, instantly recognizable silhouette. Bright hues inspired by tropical birds bring energy and lightness, making the collection ideal for creating vibrant settings by the pool, on a terrace, or in any outdoor space that calls for a strong sense of personality.
Banjooli is part of Moroso’s M’Afrique project, a collection that celebrates the meeting of contemporary creativity and African tradition. Each piece is conceived by internationally renowned designers and handcrafted by artisans in Dakar, who manually weave polyethylene threads—the same used for fishing nets. The result is an authentic product, inherently unique, expressing craftsmanship, subtle imperfections, and the vitality of artisanal work.
