Barcelona® pouf is designed by Mies Van Der Rohe for Knoll with polished chrome structure hand-buffed and hand-finished to a mirror finish and 7 supporting straps in cowhide.
Cushion with polyurethane foam padding, covered with 16 individual panels of leather, cut, hand-welted, and hand-tufted with leather buttons produced from a single cowhide.
Can be used in combination with the armchair or as a stool.
Available in the standard or Relax version, with cushions in polyurethane foam with variable density.
The pouf from the Barcelona® collection was created, in combination with the eponymous and iconic armchair, to furnish the German pavilion at the World Exhibition held in 1929 in the city of Barcelona. These furnishing accessories characterized by the peculiar metal base and capitonné cushions have become among the most recognized objects of the XX century, emblem of the Modern Movement and symbol of an essential elegance that epitomize Mies van der Rohe’s most famous maxim "less is more" that has also become one of the most famous mottos of 20th century architecture.
