Oksen 4201 armchair is designed by Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen with wooden frame connected with steel column and mounting plate (available with return mechanism) and a 5-star, powder black coated or satin polished aluminium base.
Seat cushion padded in foam and a mix of feathers and down, neck and back cushion padded in moulded polyurethane foam, with upholstery in three different leather types: Aura and Grace leather in black or Walnut and Essential leather. It is available with the matching footstool in 4-star base.
Unlike other furniture, Oksen was not designed for a specific project but it was a product of five years of experimentation; with Oksen 4201 armchair, Arne Jacobsen surprised design connoisseurs all over the world moving away from his organic soft sculptural form and designing the largest and most distinctive chair, inspired by American recliner. Oksen 4201 is big, bold and powerful reflecting his name meaning "the bull"; treated in the slightest details, nothing left to chance, the back is handstitched just like the Egg while the front side is sewn, and it inhabits a room like nothing else.
