Costes chair is designed by Philippe Starck for Driade with black painted tubular steel frame, curved plywood shell with natural mahogany, natural olive, ebonized oak, natural ebony. Seat cushion with polyurethane foam padding with different densities covered in non-removable leather.
The Costes armchair, in 1984, marked the beginning of the collaboration between Philippe Starck and Driade and the consecration of the then unknown designer in Italy. Designed for the homonymous, now disappeared, Parisian coffee, owes its timeless success to the absoluteness of form: an enveloping wooden shell and three legs strongly inclined.
