Ubald Klug began his career as an interior designer working in several architectural studio in Zurich and Helsinki. After moving to Paris in 1958, he was profoundly influenced by the encounter with the sculptor François Stahly and the architect Jean Prouvé and in 1972 he began to work as a freelancer dealing particularly with interior architecture for show rooms, shops and restaurants and furniture design.
