Jacopo Foggini on Classicdesign.it
Torinese by origin and Milanese by adoption, Jacopo Foggini is one of the most original figures in the contemporary landscape between art, design, and installation. His research began within his family’s company, where he discovered the aesthetic potential of methacrylate and polycarbonate—industrial materials that he transforms into a personal language made of colour, transparency, and movement. Since the late Nineties, he has been shaping luminous filaments with a technique he developed himself, giving life to sculptures, chandeliers, and monumental works that seem suspended between matter and imagination.
Alongside his established artistic career, Foggini has developed a prolific activity in design, collaborating with major Italian studios and companies. His long-standing partnership with Edra has produced iconic chairs, chandeliers, and furnishings, all characterised by a strong sculptural presence and an innovative use of materials. His creations can be found in hotels, theatres, showrooms, and private residences around the world, confirming his ability to engage with architecture and transform spaces through light.
Jacopo Foggini’s work blends technical experimentation, artistic sensitivity, and a design vision that transcends disciplinary boundaries. Each piece is an interplay of colour and transparency, a gesture that captures the energy of the material and returns it as a visual and tactile experience, making every environment more vibrant, unique, and surprising.
