Plurima bookcase designed by Charlotte Perriand for Cassina with structure in natural oak, bicolour vertical partitions painted in black and white and sliding elements in satin anodized aluminium.
This bookcase has never previously been put into production and it is available in two versions, high and low.
A flexible bookcase with a dual function – as an element for subdividing internal space or as a wallmounted bookcase – characteristic for the patterns of variable transparency attained by means of sliding aluminium units. The alternating volumes and spaces and the chromatically offset vertical units give this bookcase a highly dynamic appearance, recalling a totem. The piece represents an ideal synthesis of the designer’s research on storage units and of her spirit that links functionality to plasticity, often featured in her work.
